Cin7 Core Enhancements | 7th July, 2024

New Release – 7th July 2024

  • FEATURES: Product family selection available for stock transfer, filter sales list by sales type (simple, advanced, etc.), upload product deals via CSV, and more!

Feature 1: QuickBooks Online – Limited editing to customer credit to prevent sync errors

Impact area:

QuickBooks Online

Introduction:

When an organization is connected to QuickBooks Online, a special customer credit product is created/synced from QuickBooks to Core. If the name, SKU, status, or tax rule is changed to a non-zero rate for this product, this causes synchronization errors with QuickBooks.

With this release we disabled the ability to edit these fields for the customer credit product when an organization is connected to QuickBooks, either manually or via API.

Feature 2: QuickBooks Online – Consolidated transaction  improvements

Impact area:

QuickBooks Online

Introduction:

When tracking categories are enabled in QuickBooks, and class and location have been selected in settings, transactions will be grouped together if they have the same general ledger account, class, and location. Previously, some tracking categories relating to product-level information (category, brand, family, product attributes) could not be passed to journals. With this release, this limitation has been removed and no longer applies, all tracking category fields can be used to group transactions during consolidation.

Previously to this release, consolidated payment transactions were first grouped by date, currency and payment account into journals, but a payment clearing account was used instead of the payment account used in the transaction, whether it was a foreign or local currency payment. With this release, the payment clearing account is used only for foreign currency payments, local currency payment journals will debit the account used for the transaction.

Feature 3: Display and edit customer credit on order and invoice section of sales

Impact area:

Sales

Introduction:

Previously, in a sale, customer credits can be added and viewed from the

Quote section. With this release the customer credit button and section is now displayed on multiple sections of the simple and advanced sale including order and invoice. This will make it easier for users to capture customer credits at all stages of an order and avoid accidentally applying overpayments to the sale. No user action is required.

  • Enter the product family name or SKU.

Feature 6: Account mapping must map unique accounts to each required account field

Impact area:

Account settings

Introduction:

Cin7 Core must map accounts in your chart of accounts to certain required accounts (inventory control, tax liability, etc.) in order for accounting transactions to be correctly generated. When an account is mapped to more than one required account field, this can cause accounting problems. With this release we have made it mandatory to select unique accounts for each required account field.

Feature 8: Upload and edit product deals in bulk via CSV

Impact area:

Sales, inventory

Introduction:

Product deals can be used to apply or combine discounts at the order level for your customers, for example if the customer’s order has met a certain criteria, such as including certain products or brands, or meeting a certain order amount. With this release, we have added the ability to import deals via CSV files, making it easier to import large numbers of deals or deal conditions at a time. Please see documentation for further information.

Functionality:

An additional attribute set must have been selected at the operation or production order/run level from your production process customization settings (General settings).
